We had the opportunity to be in downtown Chicago recently and decided to stop in at the fairly new Intelligentsia that is connected to the grocery store – Old Town Coffeebar.
I’m referring to the location at 1233 N. Wells.
We really liked this store! We ordered a couple of drinks, including a classic cappuccino and a soy mocha. I also ordered two bags of coffee for the office.
First of all, a minor complaint. What in the world are they thinking by not getting on the almond milk bandwagon? Almost all shops are now offering almond milk, and it’s way better than soy. Both in flavor, and for health reasons. They need to serve almond milk!
The interior is simple, much like the rest of the Intelligentsia locations I’ve been to. I’ve been to several stores around Chicago, including the Randolph St. location and their location in Venice Beach, CA.
Intelligentsia is by far one of the best coffee companies in Chicago, and offers a consistent product from store to store. They are definitely one of my favorite places to order and drink coffee.
